Nashville Mayor John Cooper Announces Celebrity Incentive for Flu and COVID Vaccinations

Nashville Mayor John Cooper announced a new incentive for residents to get their COVID vaccine and flu shot. Cooper tweeted this week that anyone needing their annual flu shot or COVID vaccination could meet NFL alumni on December 14, from 3 – 6 pm at the Nissan Stadium.

He said he was grateful to the NFL health alumni, the Tennessee Titans, the Tennessee Department of Health, and Nashville Health for organizing the event.

According to the post, in addition to the flu shot, the Pfizer vaccination would be available for anyone over the age of 5.

Those attending will be able to meet retired NFL members, receive a holiday photo with the Titans mascot and team cheerleaders, be entered into a free raffle of NFL alumni signed footballs, along with food and giveaways. NFL members attending included Chris Sanders, Neil O’Donnell, and Al Smith.

This is one of Cooper’s many incentive programs to get Tennesseans vaccinated against COVID. Earlier this year, The Tennessee Star reported that Cooper, the Metro Department of Health, and American Airlines partnered for a ‘Refer to Win!’ program.

The program explained that anyone receiving a COVID booster shot could write down the name of whoever recommended they get the booster shot and then be entered to win a set of American Airlines plane tickets. Once won, there were over 300 destinations the winner could choose from.

The contest ran from November 8 – 22, but the winners were never announced.

The first incentive program, which was another Refer to Win raffle, promised Nashville residents with prizes such as Predator season tickets, multiple different gift cards, and select one-year memberships to local Nashville attractions.

Currently, in Davidson County, there are 1,595 active cases, 1,226 deaths, and a total of 123,019 recovered cases reported.

If some people who formerly played with balls convinces you to take more government issued poison, you are already dead.

Jason – Excellent point. Too bad there is not a vaccine to prevent stupidity that Coper could be given.
